On September 20, 2023 at the invitation of the City, Rise Now held an informational session at The Watson Hotel in Midtown with over 600 rooms occupied by recent arrivals.
Rise Now provided information to hotel residents about its low-interest New Beginning Loan for purchasing UL-certified e-bikes so they can work as a delivery worker, and assistance on how to
apply for Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN). As part of the loan, Rise Now requires borrower to complete a mandatory course on safe and legal e-bike operation.
In September 2023, Rise Now was awarded an outreach and education grant from NYC's Civic Engagement Commission to host 3 workshops in College Point, Queens to be attended by local residents, parents, and small businesses. The workshop sessions are to generate input, ideas, and projects on what the city expense budget should fund in the neighborhood. This is part of the city's participatory budgeting process to educate New Yorkers about how NYC spends its $107 billion annual expense budget.
The city has allocated $5 million dollars to fund neighborhood programs, services, and events generated from these sessions across the city.
Rise Now is partnering with The College Point Cultural Center & The Museum at the Poppenhusen Institute, Access Future, and NYC Civic Engagement Commission to host these workshops.
